Christmas Is Right Around the Corner
Don't forget Christmas is only 4 days away, Messina Hof is ready to take your Christmas Orders and have them there by Christmas for your friends and family.
The deadline for orders is Wendsday December 23rd by 4:00PM, orders taken after 4:00PM will not be delivered until Monday the 28th of December. To get these orders there you MUST select Overnight shipping to allow your orders to arrive on time.

Wine Premire is under way

From now until 3:30PM central time Friday (12/19), we are offering a complimentary upgrade from UPS Ground to UPS Three Day Select for all orders $100 and up. (This means that the sum of the items or the item itself must be at least $100 before any taxes or shipping charges.) Do not worry if the site does not show your bonus upgrade, we will process this ourselves.
Three Day Select is the only way we can guarantee your order will reach its destination by Christmas Eve.
Timeline of Ordering
All orders placed 3:31PM central time Friday or later must have UPS 2nd Day Air selected as the shipping option in order for us to guarantee your order will reach its destination by Christmas Eve.
After Monday 3:31PM central time, all orders must invoke UPS Next Day Air shipping in order for your gift to reach its destination by Christmas Eve.
UPS will not be picking up packages Christmas Eve, any orders placed on Christmas Eve will not be picked up until Monday, 12/29. (Please read the following technicality.)
On 12/26, the day after Christmas, UPS will not be picking up from our shipping area. We are happy to process any Three Day Select, 2nd or Next Day air packages, but UPS Ground packages will not be processed until 12/29--the next business day.

New at Messina Hof: Frizzante Wines
Frizzante!
So what is all this talk about Frizzante? And what does it have to do with Messina Hof?
First, what is Frizzante?
Frizzante is a stylistic variance of winemaking. This style gives more of the zing and pop you love in a semi-dry wine, and the reason is extra carbon dioxide. The following are some various websites that discuss Frizzante wines, its relation to other types of bubbly, and the definitions thereof:
For those of you who are not into drinking Champagnes or Sparkling Wines, do not fret! Frizzante wines are only slightly more effervescent than a wine retaining its natural carbonation; the resulting taste is not an overpowering mouthful of fizz, rather an extra crispness (slight!) helping to offset some of the sweetness of the wine.
Hence, if you are a dry white wine drinker, a Frizzante GewĂĽrztraminer or Muscat Canelli is the perfect in betweener if a semi-dry is too sweet for your taste. The same goes vice versa: if you are into drinking a semi-dry and wishing you liked a Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay, the Frizzante wines will help train your palate to enjoy those drier wines.
And for those of you who areChampagne and Sparkling Wine drinkers, these will be really delightful to your palate, just a tiny bit of tingling!
Third, why not: A refreshing beverage recipe -- try this one out!
Ivory Ports of Call Mojito
6 fresh mint leaves
1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
2 ounces Ivory Ports of Call
2 ounces Frizzante Gewurztraminer or Muscat Canelli
Mix 3 mint leaves into the lime juice to release flavors. Shake Ivory Ports of call with lime-mint concoction. Top with Messina Hof Frizzante wine and garnish with mint leaves…enjoy!
Currently, in Provence and Cote-du-Rhone France, people are lining the streets to celebrate the release of Fall vintages. Among these, are the releases of Syrah (genetically similar to our Shiraz), Pinot Noir, and Gamay Beaujolais.
In fact, the Gamay Beaujolais of France is what we call Beau Jolee at Messina Hof—since our grapes are not grown in Beaujolais France, we are not allowed to call it that!
